Clare Maloney is an English language specialist with more than 15 years of experience in editing, writing and teaching. A Bay Area native, she holds a B.A. in English with an emphasis on Writing and has worked as a professional writer and editor for many high-profile companies, including Washington Mutual, Ronald McDonald House at Stanford, and Hewlett Packard.
She began her teaching career as an internationally certified Teacher of English as a Foreign Language in Spain, where she taught private and group classes for organizations such as the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture. She has also traveled to Beijing to teach. As an English instructor in the United States, Clare teaches both English learners and native speakers. She specializes in one-on-one tutoring with high schools students—preparing them not only for the SAT and ACT, but also the academic reading and writing demands that will be expected of them at the college level.
Clare is currently completing a Master’s Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language.
